Nevis gaming licence — questions worth asking.
The questions we hear most from founders and advisors evaluating Nevis NOGA in 2026.
Last reviewedWhat is the Nevis gaming licence?
A B2C and B2B online gaming licence issued by the Nevis Online Gaming Authority (NOGA), established under the Nevis Online Gaming Ordinance passed on 29 April 2025. The licence covers casino, sportsbook, and adjacent verticals through a single authorisation, renewable annually.
How much does a Nevis gaming licence cost?
The NOGA application and first-year fee is EUR 28,000. With Nevis IBC or LLC formation (EUR 2,200) and the mandatory local Reporting Officer (EUR 4,200 annually), base Year 1 cost is EUR 34,400. With our service package added, Year 1 is EUR 41,900.
How long does the Nevis application take?
In practice, end-to-end timing is 8 to 12 weeks. That includes Nevis company formation, document preparation and apostille, NOGA fee payment, portal access, document upload, regulator review, and licence issuance.
Do I need a physical office in Nevis?
No. Nevis does not require a physical office, local employees, or local directors. You do need a Nevis-resident Reporting Officer registered with the Financial Services Regulatory Commission.
What is a Local Reporting Officer?
A Nevis-resident individual or firm who acts as the licensee's formal contact with NOGA and the FSRC. They handle event-driven notifications, periodic reporting where prescribed, and act as the substantive local presence in lieu of an office.
Is Nevis better than Anjouan?
It depends on what you optimise for. Anjouan is faster and cheaper. Nevis is positioned as a step up in fiat banking and PSP credibility because St Kitts and Nevis sits on the FATF whitelist via CFATF. Operators outgrowing Anjouan banking limitations are the natural Nevis audience.
Can I target EU players with a Nevis licence?
No. Nevis is not an EU-passportable licence and is not appropriate for an EU market strategy. For EU-facing operations, MGA or a comparable EEA-regulated framework is required.
Does Nevis support crypto payment models?
Yes. Nevis is crypto-permissive and pairs well with operators who want a mixed crypto and fiat model where the fiat side benefits from St Kitts and Nevis's stronger banking standing.
How often does the licence renew?
Annually. Practical guidance is to start the renewal workflow six weeks before expiry, mirroring the application due-diligence cycle on a smaller scale.
When was the Nevis Online Gaming Ordinance passed?
The Nevis Online Gaming Ordinance was passed on 29 April 2025, establishing NOGA as the issuing authority and creating the modern Nevis online gaming framework.
